Welcome to St. Eustatius, also known as Statia! Located in the northern Leeward Islands - southeast of the Virgin Islands, northwest of Saint Kitts and Nevis and to the southeast of Saba. This special municipality of The Netherlands only exists to be your favorite island. There is so much to see, not even including the rich history. The tourist traffic isn’t much here, so you don’t have to worry about crowded landmarks or beaches.
Speaking about beaches, the crystal clear waters are great for snorkeling, so why don’t you try that? Who knows, maybe you’ll find blue glass beads, the previous currency of the island. Legend has it that if the bead finds you, you’ll return to the island again and again! That's a good problem to have. It’s beautiful here, and I have not even mentioned the dormant volcano. If you love hiking, you’ll love this; hiking up to the ridge of the volcano and watching the other islands from above is one the best things you can see.
