February
Mashramani February 23rd 2024. "Mash" is an annual festival celebrating Guyana's Republic status. Held annually on February 23rd since 1970, it includes a parade, music, games, and food to commemorate the "Birth of the Republic". Mash is celebrated in the same manner Carnival in the Caribbean is celebrated with the revelers down the street.

Holi/ Phagwah March 25th 2024. Holi, the Festival of Colors in Guyana is a Hindu celebration that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. It allows citizens to foster national unity in a country that is working to achieve unity among its people.

April

Easter March 31st - April 1st2024. Easter in Guyana celebrated like no other place. The kites, food, events are done in a major way that is truly unforgettable.

Bartica Speedboat Regatta During the Easter weekend every year, Bartica a town at the confluence of the Mazaruni, Cuyuni and Essequibo Rivers hosts the Bartica Regatta, with a growing variety of entertaining holiday activities including water sports (featuring mostly speed boats), cricket, boxing, soccer, talent shows, a street parade and party.

Lethem Rodeo April 8th - 9th 2023. The Rupununi Rodeo is an annual event in the Rupununi Savannahs, where cowboys from the various ranches get together and pit their skills against one another in friendly competition.

Rodeo began at Pirara Ranch in the 1960's, and was later held at St. Ignatius on the outskirts of Lethem, before moving to the east of Lethem where it continues to be held today. In recent years it has developed a significant national and international reputation, drawing increasing spectators and participants from not only the Rupununi Region, but also from Georgetown and Brazil. It is a historical tradition and a celebration of the cowboy lifestyle that the Rupununi Savannahs are renowned for.

Independence Day May 26th 2023

August 

Emancipation Day August 1st 2023. This holiday celebrates the abolition of slavery in the British Empire.  The day is marked with festivities that includes music and food.

Amerindian Heritage Month- Amerindian Heritage Day in Guyana September 10th2023. Heritage Celebrations that aims to affirm and preserve Indigenous customs, language and traditions by showcasing the works, literature, and art of Amerindians.

Deepavali/Diwali November 12th2023. This Hindu festival is also known as the festival of lights.
