Dominica


Known as the Nature Island, Dominica is the adventure traveler and nature lover's paradise. February

Mas Domnik –  February 12th & 13th 2024 - The Caribbean’s most original Carnival, dubbed ‘The Real Mas’, Mas Domnik brings together African and French traditions which are attractive to revellers. Much of the tradition is a manifestation of the spirit of Dominican ancestors who created a masquerade form incorporating elements from Africa which today is used to display on carnival Monday and Tuesday prior to Ash Wednesday.


April

 Jazz n' Creole Festival April 30th, 2023 - This festival is hosted in Fort Shirley, Cabrits National Park which draws participants from other French islands to Dominica. It showcases local and international musicians producing memorable performances.


May

Dominica Festival of the Creative Arts (DOMFESTA) April 12 - May 30 2023. This festival runs from April through June, celebrating Dominica's Arts through theatrical and dance performances, concerts, and artistic workshops geared at developing local artistic expressions. Events include gallery openings, theatrical performances, and concerts  throughout the island on a weekly basis.

  Hike Fest May 6th, 13th , 20th , 27th 2023-   Throughout the month of May, travelers have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Dominica's world-renowned hiking trails during the annual Hike Fest. Taking place on four consecutive Saturdays, this event offers the ideal chance to explore the island, meet like-minded people, and spend time in the great outdoors.

Dive Fest July  9th - 17th 2023 - Dominica's Dive Fest is the longest-running scuba dive and water-sport festival in the Caribbean! Each year we connect with fellow divers and water lovers on the Nature Isle, as children and adults from around the world come together to share in our celebration of love for the sea, ocean reefs, scuba diving, snorkeling and more.

September

  Kalinago Week September 2023 - Kalinago Week celebrates the heritage and culture of the Kalinago people by paying homage through events  in the territory. The goal is to strengthen the links between the Kalinago community with activities that includes youth gathering, debates, and tribute to the elders, Miss Kalinago, and Princess Natari competitions.


October

Creole Music Festival October 27th - 29th 2023. Dominica World Creole Music Festival Cancelled – NationNews Barbados — nationnews.comHeld annually in October, this is one of the most anticipated festivals in the Caribbean. Held at Windsor Park Stadium in Roseau, it is the center of the festivities which invites different bands to perform live each night.

Heritage Day  October 2023 - Heritage day in Dominica is celebrated during the independence festivities each year. It is part of Creole week celebration which begins with Heritage day and ends with Creole Day.

Creole day/ Journee Kweyol October 27 -29, 2023. This annual event is part of Creole Week celebrations. Creole Day celebrates Dominica's Creole culture. This is a great time of year to visit the island to be immerse in the culture, which will highlighted in food, language, music and special events throughout the island.
